My boss apparently had a civilian contract or something like that. Anyway, he drank Texas Pride, and that was the first time I had ever heard of it. I mentioned that I had never seen this beer before to one of my co-workers, and he said something like, "It's the cheapest beer you can buy. It's nasty." And grimaced.AlanDPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00910363728370240226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6232479.post-52447910940658096462013-02-16T13:16:29.225-06:002013-02-16T13:16:29.225-06:00I guess they had a big enough budget that they did...I guess they had a big enough budget that they didn't have to settle for Texas Pride.

Heh heh heh. My dad drank Texas Pride, and that was the first flavor of beer I ever tasted. Nasty stuff, but, like your Gargoyles movie, a great source of nostalgia.
Albatrosshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02156254141379602471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6232479.post-50855579638681954482013-02-14T14:18:18.888-06:002013-02-14T14:18:18.888-06:00I love this movie too! The thing about this movie that I remember hearing was that it was the first "made for TV" movie, and I want to say that Michael Eisner was a studio head at the time and made it happen. Funny, when you posted about this on Facebook the other day, I had just been watching "The Night of the Iguana" and recognized one of the characters being played by the same lady that played the boozy Motel owner in "Gargoyles". One of the awesome things about this movie is that it didn't hold back on the creatures: no foggy POV shots or shadows here; we got to see it all, baby! I also got "The Devil's Rain" DVD at the same time I got this one, check it out if you haven't seen it, Borgnine, Shatner, Skerritt,Travolta, and Uncle Willie, are all in this underrated 70's devil flick.Babelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18439710846543857424noreply@blogger.com
