But don't despair, you can still get hickory smoked salt from various mail-order sources, and if you live in a large enough city there might even be a "gourmet" salt & spices store that sells it. It will be more expensive, you can't just pick it up at the grocery store, but hickory smoked salt is still out there.

The last time I found hickory smoked salt in a store was 2002 in Memphis TN while on a business trip. I bought two bottles, and haven't seen any since.
ReplyDeleteLet's see, smoking's bad for ya, salt's bad for ya; I'd think that the Surgeon General (do we have one of those now?) banned the combination of them outright!
