I found the box with the misplaced cables. I had put said box in the wrong room, and then placed another box on top of it. It's the first time I've put some thing on top of another thing in a long time, and the result was still quite effective.
Cables found: printer (USB & power), mini-USB for digital camera and cell phone, and the USB optical mouse.
I should be able to post some really lousy camera-phone photos later today.
