I love this cover. Although I have two copies of the book (one a paperback and one a hardcover, each with a different cover)this is the best I've seen. That red is the perfect velvety Christmas color. Look at the left cave tunnel in the picture for 1932. Wyne Hammond and Cristina Scull of J. R. R. Tolkien: Artist and Illustrator claim that is a portrait of Gollum peeking around the corner! --Brer
