Signs of the end

Yesterday a 30-or-so year-old woman asked me "Who do I call to fix one of these leaky things?"

Well, I had to ask for clarification.  The question seemed far too simple; I assumed I had not understood what she was pointing at.

"This thing," she said, pointing to a hose bib.

So I told her everything on the house side of the meter is the home owner's responsibility, and she should call a plumber if she is unable to do it herself.

Holy chao.  She is going to call a plumber to change a hose bib.

What is the world coming to, when a grown woman can't change a simple hose bib?
