Disgusting

Idoits. Complete &^%$#@! idiots.
An Alachua County sheriff’s deputy who wanted to put a deer that had been hit by a car out of its misery Wednesday morning fired 17 shots into its stomach before the animal finally died, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

As a result of the incident, patrol staff now will receive training on how to quickly kill an animal that is critically injured, Lt. Steve Maynard said.

“The deputy didn’t know where to shoot it. He calls the sergeant, and the sergeant says to shoot it right behind the shoulder, which is the location of the heart,” Maynard said. Instead, the deputy shot the deer in the stomach.

The deer eventually died, Maynard said, adding that the deputy was “horrified” by the incident.
This kind of crap just sickens me. And these are the "only ones" who are supposed to be (cough) "experts" with their firearms. I knew before I was 10 years old how to kill an animal with one shot--especially one that was immobilized. But then I guess our heroic deputy had never helped his dad butcher a pig when he was a kid, or learned how to take out a coyote with a .22 and a single shot to the head.

Worthless punk.

Yahoo earns its place in the Takedown Hall of Shame

EFF:
Here's where the bogosity begins in earnest. Yahoo sent a formal DMCA takedown notice to Cryptome.org, demanding the removal of the compliance manual. In the letter, Yahoo's lawyers allege that posting the manual infringes Yahoo's copyrights (the only proper basis for a DMCA takedown), as well as claiming that it's a trade secret (absurd for a marketing document) and that posting it constitutes "business interference" (huh? informing customers about Yahoo's disclosure practices "interferes" with business?).
A bogus use of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act by Yahoo, just in case you think it's a better alternative to Google. It isn't. Yahoo just isn't as big and powerful. If they were, they'd be just as evil. Read the whole thing for the full explanation--and this has an "Only Ones" connection.

Bonus points to EFF for using the word "bogosity."

And I do mean significantly

From the Civil Liberties Examiner: Galveston police haven't apologized for beating 12-year-old girl.
It was a little before 8 at night when the breaker went out at Emily Milburn's home in Galveston. She was busy preparing her children for school the next day, so she asked her 12-year-old daughter, Dymond, to pop outside and turn the switch back on.

As Dymond headed toward the breaker, a blue van drove up and three men jumped out rushing toward her. One of them grabbed her saying, "You're a prostitute. You're coming with me."

Dymond grabbed onto a tree and started screaming, "Daddy, Daddy, Daddy." One of the men covered her mouth. Two of the men beat her about the face and throat.
Here's a simple statement of fact: If I heard my daughter screaming for me and saw something like that happening, I would have killed them all or died trying.

These worthless sub-human pieces of sh*t masquerading as peace officers should be treated just like any other worthless sub-human piece of sh*t who would kidnap and beat a little girl. Insert your favorite punishment here, but if it's anything less than throwing them in the big house and making sure their fellow inmates know they once were cops, you aren't paying attention.

Note I said "anything less than." It would be significantly worse for them if it were up to me.

Don't tase yourself, bro!

Except we don't know for sure if it's a "bro" or a "sis," because of course unless a civilian bystander is videotaping it, we aren't worthy of such information.

Wis. officer accidentally Tasers himself:
A police officer has been reprimanded for accidentally discharging a Taser, causing an injury — to the police officer.

Madison police released a report Monday on the July 31 incident, without revealing the officer's name or gender. The department said the Taser accidentally discharged during a standard checkout procedure.
Good to know that Tasers can discharge themselves just like guns, without the handler being responsible in any way. As long as the handler is an Only One, of course.

A Schott in the Dark

From The Gazette-Enterprise of nearby Seguin:
La Vernia Mayor Pro Tem Harold Schott retired from the San Antonio Police Department after a 33-year career.

One would be wise not to charge at him with a weapon, because he is a deadly-accurate shooter. Not one of his bullets hit outside the “bread basket” area on his target, and a couple of holes were on dead center in the bullseye.

But Schott was renewing his concealed handgun license by taking Cope’s class, and he explained the reason for it:

“If you go to buy a new shotgun, even if you’re in a policeman’s uniform, you have a five-day wait for an FBI background check. If you have a concealed handgun license, you could have the gun today. If you want to purchase a gun, a license makes it easier,” Schott said.
Wrong! Texas has no state waiting period. Period.

I would have assumed an ex-Only One would know that.

And yes, I noticed that his statement also reeks of elitism. But then I suppose that's par for the course.
