I don't get it

Another phone photo, so it was very overexposed in the bright sun yesterday, but that's a caricature of Ben Franklin with a pipe wrench, or that's what it's supposed to be, anyway.

Is there a Franklin/plumbing connection of which I am unaware?

  1. It made me wonder if Ben Franklin had something to do with plumbing so I Googled Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, here is what popped up:

So many plumbers use his name for their businesses, I wonder if he was the father of modern indoor plumbing!

  2. The company in question, the one whose truck is in your phot, explains it on their website at:

When on their site, scroll down to the header: A National Brand. It evidently has to do with name recognition and with the penchant of Franklin to be a hard worker, and a frugal and honest man and that is the image they are trying to portray for themselves in their plumbing business. An image of plumbers that they say is already in the public's eye relative to plumbers - but I have to question the frugal and honest parts.

    All the best,

  3. On top of everything else, Franklin was an inventor.
